The Purina High Point Amateur award is given to the dog that wins the most AKC points in an Amateur (All-Age, Owner-Handler, National Amateur). Those participating in the National Amateur events can secure additional points (10 for winning, 5 for being a finalist). Award years run from the conclusion of the previous year’s US National Open until the beginning of the current year’s US National Open. A tie for the win will be decided based on the total number of “Jams” credited to each dog.
